I created these sculptures inspired by the quote above, from the book, The Power of Place by Winifred Gallagher. I was intrigued by the words "light and temperature" so I wanted to experiment with shadows and cool and warm colors. The sculptures are focused on gravity and connecting shapes. The quote also mentions "living things" and I wanted to mimic human figures to study the kinds of shadows that would be cast by something tall and slender.
