tom sachs has recently influenced my work in a substantial way. he primarily creates these large and small sculptures of familiar objects made out of mediums that the objects are not usually made of. like a wooden gun for example. In my own work, i have started making these futuristic communication devices out of clay, and glazing them to appear like metal, playing the the viewer thinking that they are functional pieces of machinery but are actually not functional.

a large part of inspiration for me comes from old science fiction television and movies. mainly due to their romanticized view of the future and the humor and absurdity that comes with it.
